My name is Al Smith, I'm a Michigan-based illustrator working in horror, action comics, and commercial art. I’m drawn to visual storytelling and creating images that feel bold, atmospheric, and a little cinematic.

A lot of my focus is on character design, especially faces and figure drawing, and capturing movement, expression, and personality in each piece. Whether I’m working on comic pages, original ideas, or client work, I try to make everything feel dynamic and visually engaging.
